How to get a barcode for your product
Obtaining a barcode for your product is straight-forward. First, determine the type of barcode you need by consulting with our guide on retail barcodes.
There are three steps to procure your barcodes:
1. Simply add the barcodes to your cart and proceed to checkout
2. The easiest and fastest method of payment is via WiPay credit/debit cards. Or via direct bank transfers which takes about 12-24 hours.
3. We will collect standard company information and automatically email you your barcodes once the transaction is complete.
Another method is:
Send an email detailing what you need
We will clarify your requirements and may send a pro forma invoice with our bank details. This method takes a little longer as we wait for payment before processing the order, but you can expect to receive your barcodes within a few hours (maximum 12 hours) after payment is confirmed.
Our team is happy to guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
Retail Barcode Packages
You can purchase the EAN-13 or the UPC format barcode package by clicking the appropriate link or by using the “Buy Barcode” button
When you order a standard barcode package, you will receive:
– A unique EAN-13/UPC barcode number
– A PDF guarantee certificate
– Barcode images (3 formats: pdf, png, svg)
– Barcode Registration
– Instructions for how to use your barcode
These images can be easily integrated into your product packaging. When a retailer first scans your barcode, they will input your product information into their system, facilitating automatic retrieval of product details at checkout.
The official retail barcode size is 37.29 x 25.93mm. The barcode can be officially shrunk to 80% of this (i.e. around 20x30mm) without the scan-ability being affected, however if it can be reduced to 80% of the size without compromising scan ability. However, excessive reduction may hinder scanning, and many retailers prefer barcodes to be above 80% of the standard size.
